Membership types

There are a number of different categories of membership, designed to suit your needs.

• If you are a general enthusiast or a new professional - Full Membership is likely to be the best for you.
• If you have a specialist interest - be it land, air, sea or space then Associate Membership may be better suited to your needs.
• If you are a professional navigator, or have working in the navigation industry for some years then you may like to apply for Associate Fellowship.

If none of these suit your needs or you would like to discuss your options further please contact the Membership Secretary.

Junior Associates

Are you under 18 with an interest in navigation?
Annual Subscription: £10

Students

Are you currently a full time student under the age of 25? Do you have an interest in navigation? Please note that we require confirmation of your full time student status
Annual Subscription: £15

Associates

Do you wish to be associated with RIN, but not take advantage of our full benefits? If you wish just to become a member of one SIG group and do not wish to receive the Journal of Navigation then Associate membership is for you
Annual Subscription: £53

Members (MRIN)

All you need is an interest in navigation, be it amateur or professional - no professional qualifications are necessary - and to be over 21.

Associate Fellows (AFRIN)

If you have a professional involvement with navigation, or you have obtained a high level of professional achievement or experience in the advancement of navigation operations, concepts or equipment then please apply for AFRIN.
Just compete the online application form; you will then be contacted by the membership secretary for additional information. Once this is supplied, your application will be submitted to our Professional Membership Panel for consideration.

Affiliate College or University

For just £150 your organisation can join up and receive the equivalent of ten student memberships - plus the staff co-ordinator can receive a full membership free of charge - so that is eleven RIN memberships, all complete with full membership benefits. Alongside this, each student member upon leaving will receive their own webpage on this site, with the ability to join in a number of exclusive events, lectures, meetings and seminars, plus lots lots more.

Affiliate Club

Do you belong to a flying or sailing club? Are you and your fellow members interested in navigation and location? If so then this is perfect for you. For the price of just one normal member, your organisations can join up and receive the equivalent of three full memberships.
Alongside this you will receive your own webpage on this site, the ability to join in or even run a number of exclusive events, lectures, meetings and seminars, plus lots lots more.
